Shooting

Hi there fellow Shooting Competitors!

Congratulations to those who made the 16th Winter Deaflympics the success that it was. No doubt most of you will agree it ended too quickly and that it is a shame that we will have to wait another four years before there is another Winter Deaflympics.

Fortunately, in two years’ time we will be celebrating the 2009 Summer Deaflympics in Taiwan. It will not be long before we are all together to take part in the Deaflympics again!

This will mean that our Shooting Competitors will be preparing and training hard for the 2009 Summer Deaflympics.

I would like to encourage more people to go to Taiwan to meet other Shooters from different Nations. This will be an excellent opportunity for Shooting Competitors to make new friends or to renew old friendships.

I have been working with the ISSF to obtain more information about recent ISSF rulings regarding the number of nations competing for the World Records. I will be reporting on these in the next issue of eNews.

There have been New World Records being made by Shooting Competitors subsequent to my last eNews report. To ensure that these records are recorded by the ICSD, I encourage that these records be submitted without any delay following the record being made.

The ICSD website has the revised ICSD record application form for submission of world records in shooting. Please use this form when submitting world records.

My appreciation goes to Wayne Langbein for the work he did with updating the record application form.

Feel free to contact me (shootingtd@ciss.org) if you have any further questions about Deaf Shooting. I would be delighted to hear from you.
