The multi-stakeholder discussion explored on how existing UN institutional frameworks can contribute to strengthening the mainstreaming of disability and enhancing awareness and improving cooperation to the advancement of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in line with the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. They also discussed on the possibility of investigating further into the modalities of establishing a new monitoring mechanism of disability for the Commission for Social Development.

This Commission for Social Development was an important one, as it was the first session after the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
