Swimming & Water Polo

Hello everyone,

Four more months before we compete again in Taipei. Swimming and Water Polo competitions will be fierce and exciting among aquatic athletes. Regulations for Swimming and Water Polo have been posted. Please be aware that training and competition schedules may be adjusted according to final entries. Updated schedules will be posted by middle of August. The T2009 Committee has invited four high-ranking FINA officials to serve on the technical and protest committees (two FINA officials for each sport). The T2009 Committee also provided a list of hotels at both Hsinchu County (competition pool) and Taipei City.

Swimming
ICSD has appointed Cindy-Lu Fitzpatrick as Assistant Technical Director – Swimming. Cindy-Lu is from Australia and has extensive experience in swimming and Deaflympics. Please welcome her.

Final swimming entries are due 1 August. Please submit swimmer names, events, and times. Minimum qualifying times are posted.

The first Swimming Technical Meeting will take place on 4 September. Additional meetings during the week will occur to discuss future swimming events and swim meet formats. Please be ready to discuss ideas, plans, and feedback.

Water Polo
Since there are only five teams entered for Water Polo, additional teams may enter. The deadline is 1 June. Final team rosters are due 1 August. Please submit player names and cap numbers.

The first Water Polo Technical Meeting will take place on 4 September. Additional meetings during the week will occur to discuss future water polo events and women water polo. Please be ready to discuss ideas, plans, and feedback.
