First, I wish all sports friends a happy, healthy and successful new year of 2006!

This year in 2006 the Winter Technical Directors' main focus is to work with Salt Lake City Organizing Committee for winter sports,  such as alpine skiing, cross country skiing, snowboarding, ice hockey and curling (demonstration) for the Winter Deaflympics 2007 in Salt Lake City/USA. I wish all Technical directors good luck and success.

In addition, the World Deaf Cycling Championships will take place during the 18th and 24th of June in California/USA and the World Deaf Golf Championships during the 16th and the 21st of July 2006 in Edmonton/Canada.

I wish all organizers for cycling and golf the best of luck and positive results for the teams. I hope a large number of countries can make it to California/USA and Edmonton/Canada. For further information and more details you can look up these web pages:

Deaflympics Anti-Doping Commission and the Technical Commission met during 29 - 31 of October 2005 in Passugg/Switzerland. These two commissions have been in preparation for the Winter Deaflympics 2007 in Salt Lake City/USA.  We have also expanded our members in the Anti-Doping Commission. We have also invited our Anti-Doping-Doctor Dr. Lars Meiworm to participate in the recent seminar. He was able to proivde a lot of necessary information about anti-doping. Now we are more prepared for the Winter Deaflympics 2007.

Eventhough we have not yet confirmed Technical Directors for snowboarding and ice hockey, the Technical Commission was able to continue their work with the two additional consultants. A warm and sincere thank you to our two dedicated Technical Directors and two new consultants and our wonderful team, which you can see pictures on the right.

Best regards,
Josef Willmerdinger
