ICSD first Youth Commission meeting in Lausanne

Hello!
Welcome to Lausanne, Switzerland.

What are we doing here? We’ve created a new youth commission.  In the past, the youth commission has had its struggles.  But now we can say we’ve finally established momentum, and it feels great!

We have three new members who will be working for the deaf youth.   They are Julia, Daniel, and André. Together, we’ve been planning future programs which will include five main areas.  First, we want to increase the participation of deaf youth in sports. Second, the Deaf Youth Games. Third, Deaf Youth World championships. Fourth, Deaf Youth Camps. Fifth, add new sports that are gaining popularity amongst the youth.

We have been working for two days in Lausanne.  Why Lausanne?  It is where the International Olympic Committee office headquarters are based in. We're working closely together to prepare for the upcoming year - 2016.

If you would like to learn more about our work, we will post updates in the ICSD website.  So, please check it often.

Not now though, but from January on, as we will be launching our new website which will also include a section for deaf youth sports. If you have any questions, you can send us an email at youth@ciss.org.

We, the members of the youth commission as well as myself and Mr. Dmitry Rebrov would like to wish you all a Happy New Year and a wonderful 2016.
Thank you, and we will see you again next year!
