ICSD and DIBF authorities meeting

Officials from the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) arranged a virtual meeting with Deaf International Basketball Federation (DIBF) colleagues with a focus on anti-doping.

The leadership of both organizations first gave a brief introduction of their work and activities, following with a discussion regarding the current global pandemic. Presidents, Gustavo Perazzolo and Ioannis Stoufis, agreed to strengthen good relationships and improve communication between ICSD and DIBF, especially during a period that has become difficult for international deaf sports events.

Attention then turned to the anti-doping matters as the DIBF has to decide on its status being an independent WADA Code signatory. It was agreed to work together on analyzing the needs of the DIBF anti-doping system and to seek opportunities for future transparent collaboration.

Both Presidents have pledged to work together within the anti-doping field while shaping a brighter future with the values of clean sport for deaf basketball players.
