Ice Hockey

Now with the 16th Winter Deaflympics behind us, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the athletes who competed so proudly for their countries in Salt Lake City, Utah. Thank you to all the coaches and mission staff for supporting their athletes. Overall, it was a meaningful event bringing together many Olympians from all over the world where old friendships were rekindled and new friendships were developed.

We are now approximately 18 months away for our 1st World Deaf Ice Hockey and Curling Championships in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 2009 to be hosted by the Canadian Deaf Sports Association. CDSA and ICSD will share with you more detailed information when information becomes available.

I encourage all of you to stay connected with your athletes by participating in events going on between now and the World Championships in your country. Please check ICSD website for regular updates and stay tuned for new developments with the Ice Hockey program.

As always, please let ICSD know if they can be of any help in preparing for the upcoming 2009 World Deaf Ice Hockey and Curling Championships by contacting info@ciss.org

Yours in sport,

S. Chris Bradley
