Closing Ceremonies bring a bang to the end of the Winter WGD

At the Opening Ceremonies, each team paraded in the Ice Stadium separately.  At the Closing Ceremonies on March 14th, the athletes all paraded as one, symbolizing the unique bond the Games have the capability of creating.

President John Lovett of CISS gave thanks to the Swiss and its excellent organization of the games and hoped that every one would return to future games.  The President of the Organizing Committee, Mayor Erwin Roffler, thanked the excellent hospitality of the people of Davos and mentioned that it was an excellent and inspiring experience for him.   Swiss Sports Association President Walter Zaugg thanked his Organizing Committee and extended his thanks to all attendants for making the Games such a success.

The CISS flag was handed off to the Swedish delegation, who will fly the flag in Sundsvall, Sweden in 2003.  Then a variety of Swiss ceremonies were displayed, from flag throwers to rustic drummers bending up an down.  The Games finished with a bang by providing a fireworks show worthy of any celebration.
