Badminton

The 2nd World Deaf Badminton Championships will run from 28 September to 6 October in Muelheim/Ruhr, Germany. We have 23 countries with 60 men and 48 women take part which is fantastic. We will run the team event for the first three days with 13 countries involved and then the individual event for the next four days. On the very last day there will be a special match between Europe and Asia where the best players play with exceptional high standards. The show will be electrified!

Please see www.badminton-wc.dg-sv.de for the latest update of this wonderful Championship and I will give a full report in the next issue.

I am truly sorry to announce the great loss of an excellent and promising Lithuania player, Andrius Jankus who was killed from a road accident last month. He was 21 years old. My sympathy goes to Lithuania Deaf Sports Federation.

Best wishes,

Martin Bogard
ICSD Technical Director - Badminton
