2011 Season
After a strong winter we now are looking forward to the new outdoor season at the northern hemisphere where most of the international activities are taking place. I hope that all athletes has used the last month to prepare themselves for the new season that is the last season before the next outdoor World Championships.

In my last messages I appealed all countries to send in bids for the 2014 Cross Country and 2015 Indoor World Championships. Regretfully we unfortunately enough have received no bids.

I am looking forward to an interesting and exciting season.

2012 World Deaf Athletics Championships
There is now a little more than one year left to the 2nd World Championship in Toronto 14-21 July 2012 only. The organising committee is working hard to prepare the World Championship and I am confident that everything will be well organised. The poster for the WC will be ready to be sent out in May. Also the website for this WC will be opened in May.

The formal invitation and preliminary registration forms will be mailed to all Members before the end of June 2011. The forms must be filled and returned to me (AthleticsTD@ciss.org) by 30 September 2011. After that date we will see if any event has to be cancelled due to insufficient number of entries. I do of course not hope that any event has to be cancelled.

The entry standards – A and B standard – for each event can be found on the ICSD webpage. Please, follow the rules for entering athletes for each of these Standards. You all know that athletes younger than 16 years on 31 December 2012 are not allowed to take part in the World Championships.

2010 Best Results
After the publication of the previous E-news I had hoped to see more Best Results from the Members but with results from only 2 countries it is not possible to set up a valid statistic.

World Records
A list of the approved World Records for 2010 is published here. For year 2011, only athletes born 1992 or later are eligible to set a Junior World Record.
