Ski WC Garmisch
Mike Schmauser, International Committee of Sports for the Deaf Alpine Skiing Technical Director, visited Garmisch-Partenkirche. It was all really well organized and there was also a great mood. I thank OC President Peter Fischer and his colleagues very much for everything. During the championship I had the opportunity to a personal conversation with Mr. Thomas Bach, vice president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Inter alia we had a preliminary meeting held for the Winter Olympics 2018 in Germany 2018.
1st World Ski Cup in Suisse 2012
The Schweizerischer Gehörlosen Sportverband (Switzerland) has planned and prepares 1st World Ski Cup at the same time as the European Deaf Alpine Skiing Championships in Davos. They will to send ski entry and program for all countries. That is important ski level and comparative performance for our federations (Americans, Asia Pacific, and European). Mike Schmauser ICSD TD Alpine skiing wishes all countries success and looks forward to Switzerland.
Ski Legend Hans Lie died
The ski legend Lie of Norway died on 21 June 2011. He has won until now the only 8 gold medals to men ranklist in Winter Deaflympics. He was 82 years old.
