International Sports Director

Leadership in Global Deaf Sports
As the ICSD International Sports Director, Jürgen Endress oversees all summer and winter sport directors and manages relations with International Sports Federations. His responsibilities include organising and planning sports delivery at the Deaflympic Games, the World Deaf Youth Games, and the World Deaf Championships. Additionally, he leads the analysis and development of sports and event programme planning for all global Deaf sports competitions.

Strategic Development and Regulations
Beyond event organisation, Jürgen plays a pivotal role in evaluating, refining, and enforcing all sports regulations in collaboration with the Sports Commission. He also spearheads strategic projects aimed at advancing Deaf sports on an international level, ensuring their continuous development and professionalisation.

Extensive Experience in Deaf Sports
With over 15 years of experience as the ICSD/DIBF Basketball Director, Jürgen has acquired invaluable expertise through his involvement in four Deaflympic Games, four World Deaf Basketball Championships, and numerous other international Deaf basketball events, including youth and 3x3 tournaments. Furthermore, his tenure as Secretary General of the Deaf International Basketball Federation (DIBF) for over eight years saw him transform the organisation from a small federation into a leading International Deaf Sports Federation, establishing a model for other similar organisations.

A Well-Rounded Sports Leader
A German national, Jürgen brings extensive experience within the Deaflympic Movement and in the delivery of Deaflympic Games and other major sporting events. His unique and well-rounded background - as an athlete, coach, referee, and organiser - equips him with a comprehensive understanding of event management and strategic planning. His exceptional communication skills foster effective collaboration with organising committees, sport directors, and other key stakeholders, ensuring clarity and efficiency in all aspects of Deaf sports administration.
