By Marco GalmariniThe European Deaf Wintersport Championships snowboarding races took place on 8 and 9 March 2008 in Seefeld / Austria by a solid group of Austrian Organising Committee. A total of 10 women and 18 men participated. Of these, the Japanese team surprisingly flew to Austria as guests to give them more competition opportunities. The parallel slalom woman winner was the Freestyle specialist Yuka Tsuruoka from Japan. The men’s winner was Austrian Peter Strack. The Winter Deaflympics champion of 2007 Salt Lake, Harada Noboru,the best Japanese snowboarder, placed third (3rd) in Seefeld. You can view the results and photos in www.deafwintersport.eu website.
