Report from Vice President

Greetings readers!

The 16th Winter Deaflympics is approaching quickly to 1st February 2007 so we better start now packing and preparing for our important mission to Salt Lake City.- the sportspersons, officials, coaches, delegates to the Congress and supporters! The most important task is PARTICIPATION in the most prestige deaf sport event of the year 2007.

At the last management team meeting in Athens, Greece we had prepared final proposals to the Congress in Salt Lake City after we had mainly agreed to the proposals at the Executive Meeting that took place in March 2006 in Salt Lake City. Congres proposals will be sent to you for your review and we do hope that you review and discuss them at your national deaf sport federation executive meetings.

My final word to you: I have started seriously keeping fit by riding bikes. Once sportsperson always sportsperson, we should stick to physical training for several following reasons:

  1. Keeping fit
  2. Be healthy
  3. Once sportsperson always sportsperson
  4. Feeling young
  5. Opening healthy mind
  6. The most important : Be a role model to all young deaf people!

I hope you also take a physical hobby like bike riding, swimming, jogging, golfing, etc. Therefore  I would like to see you healthy with healthy mind at the Congress.

Happy reading and happy exercising!
