Report from Sports Director

I sincerely wish you all happy and successful New Year 2007!

2007 is going to be a very special year for the teams of the Deaf Winter Sports because in only 2 week time, the 16th Winter Deaflympics will be waiting on our doorsteps!

It is going to be very exciting because the venues and facilities of the SLC 2007 have first class quality. It is the same venue used by the Olympic Games in Salt Lake City in 2002.
I believe and have great trust in our deaf athletes from all over the world, that they all will give their best.

Not only to the athletes I wish the best of luck and success, but also to all officials, managers, trainers, psychotherapists and doctors of all participating countries.

What I ask of all participants for the 16th Winter Deaflympics in Salt Lake City, United States, is to be fair, honest, tolerant, respectful and friendly. These rules are not only for the people in charge, but also for the viewers.

We all hope for an unforgotten and extraordinary 16th Winter Deaflympics in Salt Lake City, United States.

Please do come and cheer for our athletes' performances. We are depending on your support.

I’m looking forward to seeing all of you again! Till then.

Regards,

Josef Willmerdinger
ICSD Sports Director
