Snowboard

Hello Snowboard Riders, Fans of Snowboarding & Interested readers

You will probably already know that the 17th Winter Deaflympics has been cancelled in Slovakia. See Press Release here.

This news comes as a great shock to all winter sports lovers but it certainly should not mean the end of the Winter Deaflympics. In five years time, the Winter Deaflympics will definitely take place in Canada and I search a new demand for the sport of snowboarding in the future. I hope that Snowboard riders don’t focus their efforts purely on the Winter Deaflympics and world championships. For us the international contests such as the World Cup, World Series, Snowboard Tour with the system point and FIS or TTR are also important. You will be informed about this in the next eNews.

I request that all snowboard riders and coaches, continue with their training programs for the winter season 2010/2011 regardless of this sad news. One thing for certain is that winter will definitely come again next year. Always be prepared of the possibility of a new plan from ICSD to replace Slovakia.

If there are any people who have a serious interest in the organization of the snowboard - World Championships for Half pipe, Big Air, Snowboard Cross, Parallel Slalom and Giant Parallel Slalom in 2013, I would be very happy for someone to take over this event for the first time. The deadline date to submit bidding documents for World Deaf Snowboard Championships is on 31 January 2011.

Contact ICSD Office (info@ciss.org) to request for more information.

Questions and suggestions naturally at any time to me.
