Ice Hockey

With 2007 closing behind us, we look forward to another great year of 2008.

I have been communicating with Brian Broszeit – Chairperson of the World Deaf Ice Hockey and Curling Championships that will take place in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on 11th – 18th April 2009.

They are very excited to announce that their website will be launched in January 2008. Please visit their website: www.worlddeafhockeycurling2009.com. You can check more information about their host committees, accommodations, registrations, sponsors, & etc. in their website.

The ICSD has sent out Preliminary Entry FormsPDF to our member countries a couple of weeks ago. Please fill out the Entry Forms as soon as possible on or before 15 January 2008 whether your country plans to attend or not to the Organizing Committee.

The Canadian Deaf Sports Association looks forward to receiving these Preliminary Entry Forms to give them an idea of how many countries will attend their 1st World Deaf Ice Hockey and Curling Championships.

My personal goal is to see at least 8 teams attend the Ice Hockey Championships in 2009. I will give you an update in our next e-NEWS in regards to how many countries and who will participate.

If you have any questions regarding the 2009 World Ice Hockey Championships, please feel free to contact me anytime at icehockeytd@ciss.org

Have a wonderful Holiday Season!
