I have been involved in Deaf Sports for over 30 years, ever since 1989. I was an International Badminton player in Deaflympics, Asia Pacific Deaf Badminton Championships and Asia Pacific Deaf Games for 16 years before becoming an Executive Member of Delhi Sports Association of the Deaf in 2008 till 2013. I further joined as the honorary Sports Director of Deaf Sports Association of Delhi, the capital of India.

Additionally, I am also the Honorary Technical Director (Badminton), All India Sports Council of the Deaf since 2013 alongside being the coach for the Indian Deaf Badminton team under AISCD.

I have been honoured with multiple awards for my contributions like National Award for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities from President of India Late Shri A. P. J. Abdul Kalam in 2005, Delhi Commission of Women Achievement Award in 2019 among others.

My personal and professional experience in the Deaf Sports first as a player and then in administration gave me comprehensive growth and understanding of the field. I am honoured to be a part of ICSD Women in Sports Commission and Asia Pacific Deaf Sports Confederation and am determined to actively strengthen the role of women in the International as well as National Level. An increased participation of deaf women specially from the Asian Pacific region is one of my most important aims and I intend to work very hard towards the advancement of women.
