A swim team captain for the Australian team at the Melbourne Summer Deaflympics won gold medal in 100m butterfly and holds the current World Deaf Record, won three (3) silver medals in 200m butterfly (swam under World Deaf Record time), 400m Freestyle, and 1,500 Freestyle. During the year of 2005 he also participated in elite level competitions such as Victorian State Swimming Championships, Victorian State Surf Lifesaving Championships, Australian Open Swimming Championships, Victorian State Short Course Swimming Championships and Australian Open Short Course Swimming Championships, he received bronze medal in relay team event against Olympic level swimmers. He also holds Victorian Institute of Sports Scholarship for year 2004-2005.
